Clinton, Iowa, Saturday, June 6, 1896Frank Kennedy and C. W. Burnett, employees of the Milwaukee Road, were drowned in the Mississippi River near Savanna Sunday evening. The young men in company with two companions, were enjoying a little boat ride on the river, and everything went well until the boat, which was a small one, was caught in an eddy caused by the water from the Plum Creek rushing into the river.-Fulton Journal.
