I'm not related, but hope this helps you. Clayton County Register, Aug. 15, 1973: Funeral services were held Thurs. at Popular, Montana for Mrs. Carie "Bissel" Leete, 106, with burial at Popular. Her death occured Monday at Popular where she had resided many years. She was the widow of the late Charles Leete. Born at Volga July 17, 1867 she was married to Charles Leete Feb. 2, 1884. They homesteaded in Montana. Her husband preceded her in deaht in 1943. She leaves two daughers: Miss. Mary Leete, Popular, Montana, and Mrs. Clarence Johnson, Palm Springs, Calif; four grandchildren and several great grandchildren; two sistrs, Mrs. Eneas Voshell of Volga City and Mrs. Ida Robinson of Edgewood, Iowa. Two sons preceded her.
Carrie Leete appears to be the daughter of James & Rose Bissel.
Sorry I don't know the sorce of the following info.: Mrs. C. C. "Carrie" Leete of Poplar, Montana celebrated her 105th birthday July 17th in her room at Poplar Nursing home. Believed to be the oldest resident in the state of Montana, Mrs. Leete is in fine health and says she lives a happy and contented life at the home. Mrs. Leete was born Carrie May Bissel at Volga, Ia. on July 17, 1867. She married Charles Charter Lette on Feb. 2, 1884. At first they lived on a farm in Iowa; then at Brookings, S.D., and in 1917 they moved to Montana to homestead. Relatives in this area include her sisters, "Ida" Leo Robinson of Edgewood, Mrs. "Bessie" Eneas Voshel of Volga; also nieces and nephews, Ira Bissel and Rose Meyers of Edgewood, Ray Bissel of Arlington,Ia, and Don Bissel of Manchester, Ia. Mrs. Carrie Leete died Aug. 6, 1973. Carrie may also had a brother James Bissel born May 3, 1871 d. Oct. 24, 1966 City Cem. Edgewood, Iowa.
