Walter,
With what you have, and what I've found today .... I would be very inclined to believe that Nettie died and was buried in Louisiana. If her son & her parents (the Wilder's) had lived in Clayton co. Iowa when she died, then it would be possible that they had her body brought to Iowa for burial. But William and Sophia apparently moved from Iowa after the 1880 census and before the 1900 census.

The 1900 federal census shows them in Calcasieu Parish, town of Jennings, LA; district 24:
Wilder, William R., HOH, [illegible column], born N.Y., blacksmith
Wilder, Sophia E., wife, [illegible column], born England
Wilder, George N., son, [illegible column], born Iowa
Liehe [or Leike], Lillian, daughter, [illegible column], born Minnesota
Liehe [or Leike], Malcolm B., grandson, [illegible column], Mississippi[?]
Marken, George, grandson, [illegible column], born Louisiana, father b. N.Y. and mother b. England
--
William & Sophia are still in Calcasieu Parish, town of Jennings, LA on the 1910 census. George is still living with them. This census gives PA as the birthplace of George's father and his mother in Iowa.

In my opinion, you should be looking for Nettie's burial in LA, not in Iowa. I wish you the very best of luck in finding Nettie's grave.

William and Sopha Wilder. Farmersburg Township, I believe. (From the 1880 Iowa Federal Census.

She has wedding invitation printed to mary JE Marken in Jennings, La. at the home of her Father, William Wilder.
Whether they got married or not, I have no idea.

Her son, George Adrian Marken, my Grandfather, was born in Jennings, La. on April 12, 1892. He grew up
with the Wilder family without Nettie, apparently, because he was raised by William and Sopha Wilder.

LDS records show she died Oct 28, 1912 in Louisiana. Other random family genealogical records shows she died in Iowa
in 1912 and may be burried there. If I knew which county she died in, it would be easier to search for her
burial site.

She is listed in the 1900 Calcasieu Parish Census as married to Montgomery Crouch with two daughters, Viola and
Gertrude Crouch. I do not know what happen to JE Marken. This is about all I know about her from the research I
have done.

Thanks,
Walter Hundley
