Mike - I don't the burial site of John McMorrow, and have looked for an obituary in the Elkader, Strawberry Point, Guttenberg, Garnavillo & Dubuque online newspaper archives without success. However, he did leave a LW & T - as referenced in the Clayton County Journal, Garnavillo; December 12, 1866; page 2, as follows (in part):
To Martin McMorrow, Michael McMorrow, Patrick McMorrow, James McMorrow, Mary Castigan, Catherine Phellin, Annie Scannell, heirs of John McMorrow, dec'd ........ Notice is given that the last will and Testament of John McMorrow will be admitted to probate on Thursday the 6th of December 1866 .... Attest Alvah C. Rogers, County Judge, Clayton County, Iowa
It's a bit of a long shot, but if you obtain the LW & T, and letters of probate from the courthouse, they 'might' contain information to his burial place such as a bill for grave digging or something like that. I very much doubt that you'll find the names of his parents from probate or cemetery records though.
Mr. McMorrow was probably Catholic, so if he was buried in Volga it was probably in either Sacred Heart - Cox Creek cemetery or Sacred Heart - Volga cemetery (aka Schoolhouse Yard cemetery). Both are old cemeteries, with unmarked graves. I don't have complete burial lists for either of them or know where to direct you. The 'official' Clayton County website contains info. about the cemeteries that might be helpful (click the link below) in finding where you could find sexton records dating back to the 1860's.
Hopefully someone else reading your query will be of more help that I can be. Good luck in your search!
