In Response To: Knorr family (Kim Knorr)

Kim - can you please clarify ... did your Knorr's settle in Clayton county or were they intending to settle there?

It's extremely unlikely that you'll find a death certificate if they died in Iowa prior to 1880, and often for some time after that year. Iowa death records were 'officially required' to be recorded at the county level, starting on July 1st, 1880. I don't know the dates for other states.

There is a burial record for Ludwig Knorr, s/o Johannus F. on the Clayton co. website:
Possibly a son of your Johann & Anna?
