(maybe that Ablert should be Gilbert. I'd get his death cert to find out. Did he die in Cook county?)

In the 1860 for Strawberry Point I see a John A Cooly family. John A. was 28 and born in NY. His wife, Josephine, was 23 and born in Mass. They have two boys, Henry B. (3 yrs) and Charlie A. (1 yr.) - both born in Iowa.

There's another family, in 1860, Wm. J. Cooley from Wagner, Clayton, IA - but they were from Germany.

There's a third family, in 1860, Andrew S Cooley from Garnavillo, Clayton, IA - Andrew was born in Vermont and his wife, Salome, was born in Mass. the next household is a 29 year old Stephen W Cooley with a 4 year old son, Albert W Cooley.

I don't see any Edwin/Edgar/Edger Cooley born in Iowa. I do see one 6 yr old Edward Cooley in Franklin, Monroe, IA. That family was from Ireland.
