JOSEPHINE NAESCHER
On Thursday, February 22, 1900, occurred the death of Mrs. Josephine Naescher of asthma and heart trouble. Mrs. Naescher was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hoecken and was born in Buehne, Paderborn, Germany in 1823 and came to America in July 4, 1853. She was married to Mr. Naescher in this city. She leaves three grandchildren, one boy and two girls. The funeral was held on Saturday, February 24th, 1900 from St. Mary's church, Rev. Brinkmann officiating with burial at the Catholic cemetery. May her eternal sleep be peaceful.

Naescher-Nasher. A priest, Franz Nascher, of Liechtenstein is seeking the family of Josephine Naescher d. Feb. 1900, buried in Guttenberg, Josephine was survived by three grandchildren, in 1900: Mary Naescher, LaCrosse, Wis., and William Naescher and Lizzie Naescher of Guttenberg, IA. Just a little research revealed that William Naescher m. 1880 to Caroline Nipp, and so they lived in/near Guttenberg for at least 20 years (into 1900). If you would like to track down the Naescher family or know of descendants, let me know. You may write to the priest in Liechtenstein, or a former Clayton Co. lady assisting him (now of New York).

Estate of Josephine Naescher Deceased.
STATE OF IOWA
Clayton County

To Mary Naescher, now Sister Jolita, William Naescher, Elizabeth Naescher, Rev. Joseph H. Brinkman, known heirs-at-law of Josephine Naescher late of said county, deceased, and to all others concerned:

You are hereby notified that on the 1st day of March A. D. 1900 in vacation of District Court of Clayton County, Iowa, the clerk opened and read an instrument in writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Josephine Naescher, late of said county, deceased, and you are further notified that the first day of the next term of said court, commencing on the 2nd day of April A.D. 1900 has been set by the clerk as the day for the final hearing and proof of said will, at which time all persons interested may appear and show cause why the same should not be admitted to probate.
