I located death notices from the Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette for Alexander and Ann Jones. It appears that they both died there rather than in Edgewood.
Death of Alexander Jones
Alexander Jones, 1439 North Fifth street west, died at 6:20 o'clock last evening at the age of 80 years. Mr. Jones lived most of his life in Clayton county and came to Cedar Rapids two years ago that his daughter might help care for him. For a man of his age he enjoyed remarkable health and was ill only forty-eight hours before he died. Besides his wife, he is survived by five daughters and one son. Miss Mary E. Jones lived with him and Mrs. Wilson Hatfield [Halfhill] lived just next door. The other children lived elsewhere. The body will be taken to Edgewood early tomorrow morning for the funeral and interment.
