Peter,
Wills & probate records for people from Giard would be at the Clayton co.
courthouse in Elkader, Clayton county. There will not be birth records for any
child born prior to June 1880 and they are incomplete from that time thru the
early 1900's. There were no penalties for not reporting births for many years,
so many were not reported. Baptism records would be from the church, they are
not a county or state record.

The North Iowa Times likely would have an obit from 1917.
