My great-great-great-great grandfather was George Ziegler. One of his daughters was Margaretha. She was born 05 MAY 1829 in Germany. The family came to USA and after living in New York for some time, moved westward to Clayton County, Iowa. Margaretha was married 12 OCT 1854 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Garnavillo, Clayton County, Iowa to Christian Baumeister.

I do not know very much about the Ziegler family. I have found a few documents with "George Ziegler" named. I am assuming that your GGF "George" is a son of Margaretha's brother. In one document it shows "George Ziegler" was born in Germany in 1938 (estimated date of birth). I have other "George Ziegler" documents with more information.

I haven't really taken much time to research this branch of my grandfather's family yet. I am just learning how interesting doing the research is and have spent more time on other branches. I do live in the area where all of these people lived - so it is interesting to drive past where they lived, worked, and attended church.

I will share any information that I have with you.
