The Aulwes name goes back a long ways in Clayton Co. Have you seen this page of baptisms from the church books of St. John's Lutheran Church?

I'm also interested in hearing more about your Kottmans. Do you know what town they came from in Germany? I have Kotting that I am researching, as well as the Menke name that shows up on that baptism page.
