Hi,
I am looking for any and all information on the LeHew and Douglass families who lived in Iowa. My great grandmother was Rachel Ellen DOUGLAS/S who married (James) Orley LeHEW. I have some information and am willing to share.

I've seen the Douglas spelt both with one and 2 Ss - does anyone know how her family spelt it? Her father was George Sidway Douglas, his father was Edmund. Are any of them still living in the area?

This all started with me trying to get DAR membership through the DOUGLAS side - only one more document left :-)
