Plans are in progress for a Reunion of Jacob Zahn Family Descendants in McGregor June 23-24, 2007.
Research is continuing on the family and Jacob's brother Bernhard Zahn. With his young bride Marie (Rupp), Jacob immigrated in 1880 from Hockenheim, Baden, GERMANY to Clayton County. He and Marie are listed in the 1880 Census with his brother Bernhard and wife Lizzie. After Marie's death in childbirth, Jacob married Minnie Miene. Bernhard and Jacob had two sisters who married Auers. An older brother, Friedrick Peter Zahn also immigrated to the U. S. More information is desired about Bernhard and Jacob's siblings who may also have immigrated to Iowa.
