Mrs. Wendell Frank (Ivanell Kraus) Engelhardt

Funeral services for Mrs. Wendell Engelhardt, 53, were held Saturday afternoon, July 24, 1971 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church with Rev. R. E. Langholz officiating.

The body lay in state at the church from 12:30 o'clock until the time of the services. Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran cemetery.

Mrs. Engelhardt died Wednesday morning, July 21, 1971, at Lutheran hospital in LaCrosse, Wis., after being in failing health the last several years.

As Ivanell, she was born the daughter of Emil and Freeda, nee Lundt, Kraus, Sept. 23, 1917, at Guttenberg. She was baptized Nov. 11, 1917, at Guttenberg by Rev. J. Janzig and was confirmed March 25, 1934, at St. Paul Lutheran church in Postville. She attended the Luana schools.

She was married to Wendell Engelhardt, June 21, 1939, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. They farmed in the St. Olaf and Monona communities until they moved to Monona in 1969.

Mrs. Engelhardt served for 10 years as a 4-H leader. She was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran church at Monona.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Surviving are her husband, Wendell; her daughter, Sharen and husband, Ronald Schlitter, and their three children, Brenda, Dennis, and Randy Schlitter of Vandalia, Ill.; her son, Ronald and wife, Ruth Ann, and their two children, Jeffrey and Kristine Engelhardt of Elkader.

Music at the services was provided by congregational singing. Mrs. George Heins was the organist.

Pallbearers were: Donald Kraus, Donald Henkes, Don Elvers, Elmer Kliefoth, LaVerne Kraus, and Alonzo Engelhardt.
