Hugo C. Jacobs, well known member of a pioneer Guttenberg family, died at the home of his sister Mrs. Grant Bayman Wednesday at 5:00 a. m. He had made his home here for the past 12 years.

Burial services for Mr. Jacobs [will be] held on Friday afternoon [ . . .] o’clock from the Tuecke funeral home with Rev. Grant [ . . . ], pastor of the Methodist church in charge.

Burial will be in the Guttenberg city cemetery with rites by the Masonic lodge of which Mr. Jacobs had been a member for 50 years. Pallbearers for the service [ . . .] F. J. Friedlein, Wiley Friedlein, E. L. Charlesworth, Wilbur [ . . . ], Joe White and Herman [ . . .]

Hugo C. Jacobs, the second son [of George] H. and Elizabeth Nolte Jacobs, was born in Guttenberg on [ . . . ] 29, 1870.

He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Clementine Eggerth of Spokane, Washington; Mrs. Mattie [Stretch] of Chicago, and Mrs. Grant M. Bayman; and one brother, Wm. H. Jacobs, of Hinsdale, Montana. He [is also] survived by three nieces and three nephews.

Mr. Jacobs was preceded in death by two brothers.
