Newspaper Clipping from Unknown Paper, probably North IA Times, Unknown Date

Died-At her home near town, Nov. 13, of bronchial pneumonia, Evelyn Schurtzman, aged nine years, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Schurtzman. Evelyn had been sick about two weeks with lung fever and was considered out of danger, when she had a relapse. All that loving hands could do, was done for her, but they could not stay the final parting. She was a very kind and loving child, with a sweet disposition that endeared her to all, A bright pupil in school where the teacher and little schoolmates will miss her. A member of the Junior League and of the M. E. Sunday School, where she met all with a happy word of greeting. But in the home circle which is broken now, the fond memory of the sweet little daughter and sister will never fade. They will ever think of the dear one, waiting and watching for them-gone before to place for her loved ones, knowing she could not drift beyond his love and care. The services were held Monday afternoon in the M. E. church. Rev. Furgeson preached an impressive sermon when dear little Evelyn was laid to rest amid a bed of flowers, mute tributes of love from her many friends. All sympathize with the afflicted ones in their bereavement.

"Softly! The messenger comes,
Enters the home at the midnight hour
With slow and noiseless footsteps:
Plucks from the circle the sweetest flower.
Guides the frail blossom beyond us,
To the beautiful heaven afar;
To the home of the blessed Redeemer;
To the beautiful gates ajar.
Where she waits the meeting of loved ones
Who now their sweet flower have given
To him, who has said of the children,
Of such, is the kingdom of Heaven.
