Charles Plagmen Passed Feb. 23, 1945 After Stroke - Elkport Man Taken Two Weeks After Attack -
Elkport - Charles Plagman died at his home in Elkport Friday February 23, after an illness of two weeks. On February 8 he suffered a stroke from which he failed to recover. He had suffered a similar stroke two years ago but apparently had thrown off the effects of that illness.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the Immanuel Lutheran church in charge of Rev. E. H. Mueller. Music was furnished by a male quartet composed of Harlan Zittergruen, Lowell Thein, LaVern Kuehl and Marvin Kuehl, accompanied by Mrs. E. H. Mueller. Burial was in Mt. Harmony cemetery.

Mr. Plagman, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Plagman, was born February 9, 1877, in Clayton county. On January 2, 1907 he married Augusta Baars in Elkader. He lived on a farm west of Elkport until two years ago when he moved to Elkport where he has since lived.

Mrs. Plagman died December 20, 1942. Mr. Plagman is survived by his son, LaVerne, and daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Totman of near Edgewood, two grandsons LaVerne Jr., and Roger Totman; a brother, Henry of Elkport, three sisters, Mrs. George Adams, Mrs. Bert Jurgens, and Mrs. Annie Witt all of Edgewood, and one step-sister, Mrs. Augusta Schnacl of Elkport.
