Mrs. Elizabeth Anna Wilhelmine Brandenburg (nee Wendt) was born in Clayton County, January 26 1873. She was united in holy wedlock to Charles H Brandenburg Sr. on February 25th 1892, thus living with her loving husband 39 years, ten months and 14 days. To this union 11 children were born. The youngest, Ralph dying in infancy on December 21, 1913. Her life was a hard one. She was ever ready to help where help was needed and seldom complained. She lived all her life in Clayton County where she passed peacefully away after a lingering illness at her home north of Garber, January 9, 1932, entered her long deserved rest.
She leaves to mourn her husband and 10 children. Mrs Alma Troester, Mrs Bertha Webber and Mrs Roma Lindenberg of Garber; Charles Brandenburg of Guttenberg; Mrs Helma Noack of McGregor; Arnold Brandenburg, Garber; Mrs Leona Noack of Osterdock; Edna and Alice Brandenburg and Mrs Mildred Hageman of Garber; seven grandchildren; one sister Bertha Beaver of Bagley, Minn; four brothers, John Wendt, Nora Springs; Henry Wendt and Herman Wendt of Sauk Rapids, Minn; Fred Wendt, Garnavillo.
She reached the age of 58 years, 11 months, 13 days. Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 12, 1932 at 1 o'clock at the home of the deceased and at 1:30 at the Ev. Luth Imm. church, Elkport, Iowa and internment in Mt Harmony cemetery, the Rev F. E. Damm in charge.
