Last New Years morning, Grandma Refle died at the home of her son, Joseph Refle, about 6 o’clock in the morning. She has been bothered considerable the last few years with heart trouble, which is supposed to be the cause of her death. She was born at Riceberg, Germany, May 26, 1826. At the age of 28 years, she was married to Michael Refle. They came to this country about 52 years ago, landing at Buffalo, N.Y. They then came to Littleport where they made their home until the time of their death. Her husband died Feb 10, 1901. She leaves to mourn four children, John Refle; Joe Refle, Mrs. Kate Friend and Mrs. Mary Mengis. Grandma Refle has always been now as a good neighbor and kind mother. Her kind ways brought friends to her no matter where she went. She was buried Jan 3, 1906. The interment took place at the Littleport cemetery. Rev. Hertle officiating.

Elkport and Vicinity NewsMrs. Refle, mother of Jos. Refle died at the home of her son, Monday. The funeral took place Wednesday at Littleport. The bereaved family has the sympathy of all in their sad affliction.
