Colesburg
Florence Annette Walters, 89, of Colesburg, died Tuesday morning, February 18, 2003 at the Guttenberg Care Center, following a brief illness. She was born April 12, 1913 in rural Elkport, IA to Ira and Ida May (Wheaton) Hansel. She attended rural country school in the area through the eighth grade.

Florence was united in marriage to Lloyd R. Walters on September 15, 1933 in Elkader, IA. Lloyd passed away October 7, 1993. She loved to sew, fish, garden, the outdoors and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her three sons, Chet Walters, Colesburg, Joseph (Sharon) Walters, New Vienna and Patrick (Cathy) Walters, Clearwater, MN; two daughters, Nancy (Lester)
Von Handorf, Colesburg and Myrna Niehaus, Colesburg; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Florence was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Darnelle Knipper, a grandson, Scott Knipper, five brothers, Perry, True, Howard, Earl and Elmer Hansel and two sisters, Grace Moser and Mildred Klingman.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 21, 2003 at the United Methodist Church in Colesburg with Rev. Sue-Ellen Sherman officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery, rural Colesburg.
Friends may call from 3-8 PM on Thursday, February 20, 2003 at Leonard Funeral Home in Edgewood, and after 9:30 AM Friday at the church.

Casket Bearers: Lee Walters, Eric Walters, Jeff Niehaus, Chuck Niehaus, Lyle Klingman and Gary Klingman
