Alice Breitsprecher was born May 10, 1898 to parents Karl (Charles) and Alvina Radloff Strien. She was baptized by Rev. Seifert on June 26, 1898 and confirmed March 16, 1913 in the Lutheran faith. She received her education in Bismark and Farmersburg schools.
On March 14, 1917 Alice was united in marriage to Louis John Breitsprecher in Farmersburg, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Farmersburg and St. Olaf area for many years. They retired in Farmersburg. Louis died July 13, 1981 in Elkader, Iowa. Alice resided at the Elkader Care center since September of 1989.
Alice died Monday, June 19, 1995 at the Elkader Care Center. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church, W.E.L.C., Altar Guild and an honorary member of the Get-Together Club.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Louis, three brothers, Fred, Herb, and Carl and two sisters, Lana and Minnie.
Surviving are three sons and their wives, Harold and Helen Breitsprecher of Hazelton, Kenneth and Pat Breitsprecher of Elkader and Lloyd and Ilaverne Breitsprecher of Rhinelander, WI., seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one sister, Marie Probert of Farmersburg.
Burial is at the Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery.Obituary from funeral memorial folder.
