A dear old pioneer passed away Thursday, October 8th, 11 o'clock a.m. in the home of his son, Charles Breitsprecher at Clayton Center. god the faithful one took the Pilgrim's staff out of his tiresome hand. It is Frederick Henry Philip Breitsprecher. Our departed brother saw this world's earthly light May 14, 1847. He was born in Priemen, Pomeranie (Germany). In the village church at Liepen our departed brother was baptized by Reb. Kerchow, there he was also confirmed.
On 1856 he came together with his parents to the New World. In 1871 he married Miss Mary Boetcher. This union was blessed with eleven children, namely: Mrs. Emily Horstman, Independence, Iowa, William Breitsprecher, Henry Breitsprecher, Read township, Alvin Breitsprecher, Luana, Charles Breitsprecher, Clayton Center, Louis Breitsprecher, Farmersburg township. He also leaves 22 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Our departed brother's wife died July 19, 1903.
His physical condition was in general good, only since about the last four week his condition grew worse, he became weaker and weaker. finally last Thursday, God called him away from this land of woe to the land of joy. He reached the age of 78 years, 4 months and 24 days. He found his last resting place in the Garnavillo cemetery by the side of his deceased wife. Funeral services were held last Saturday, Rev. Wuestenberg officiating. May the departed brother rest in peace.Clayton County Register October 15, 1925
His parents were William (Wilhelm) G.P. and Mary (Carolina) Schmidt Breitsprecher.
