Guttenberg: Services for Mrs. Otto Aulwes, 75, were held from the Tuecke funeral home to St. John's Lutheran church Sunday afternoon. The Rev. E. W. Kraemer officiated. Burial was in the City cemetery.

Mrs. Aulwes (Pauline Scholz) died at Xavier hospital, Dubuque, Friday morning after a lingering illness. She was born Feb. 09, 1877, at Guttenberg, the daughter of Charles and Helen Ulrich Schilz. On Oct. 28, 1902, she was married to Otto Aulwes at Guttenberg.

Mrs. Aulwes is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Elenor Hancock, Oelwein, and one son, John, Guttenberg, besides four grandchildren. Two brothers also survive: Charles W. Scholz, Guttenberg, and Fred Scholz, Lake Wales, Fla. Her parents, six brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

(Note) The surname Schilz/Scholz was spelled both ways in the article...as shown.
