C.C. Angier died last Thursday evening about 9 p.m., of old age, and the funeral was held at the residence Saturday.

Mr. Angier had long passed the allotted age of man, being nearly eighty-three years old. Age had enfeebled his frame until tired of the long struggle, he lie down "to sleep", and without a struggle, life departed.

Mr. Angier had made his home for many years west of the city. A quiet, unassuming man, devoted to his home without interesting himself in any way with the affairs of others, he made no enemies but was respected by all.

C.C. Angier was born Jan. 11, 1813, in the town of Westport, N.J. before the trackless prairie of the middle and western states were known by the white man.

November 1837, he married Miss Callissie Kellmer, of Essex, N.Y. and settled on a farm near Westport, N.Y., remaining there until 1849, soon after Iowa was admitted as a state, when they moved to Clayton County in this state. In the fall of 1874 they moved to Sac county, living with their son, Eugene, through the winter of 1874, then coming to their place one mile west of the city, where they lived until they died.

Dec. 6, 1884, Mrs. Angier died very suddenly, since then he had faced life's battle alone. For many years he was a minister of the Baptist church and deacon of the church since living here.

Of six children born to them four are remaining, three sons and one daughter.
