DIED - At the residence of his son, Charles L. Angier, in Garnavillo, Sept. 15th, Elijah Angier, in the 83d year of his age.

Mr. Angier was born in Fitzwilliam, N.H., in 1787; he lived many years in Essex Co., N.Y., and came to Clayton County about 16 years ago. His powers had been gradually failing with age, and gave way after an illness of five or six days. He died in firm hope of an "eternal home in Heaven."

His funeral was attended at Garnavillo by a large number of mourning friends and relatives on the 16th -- a discourse being delivered on the occasion by Rev. W.C. Wright of the McGregor Baptist Church, of which the deceased was a member: text, Ps 73:26, "My flesh and my heart faileth, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
