DIED in McGregor, Aug. 7th, Emily, infant daughter of V.B. and Elizabeth Truax, aged one week and two days.
~Weekly North Iowa Times, Wednesday, August 14, 1861; pg 2

Note: The Weekly North Iowa Times, 9/4/1861, printed a long article about the foreclosure of a mortgage on the McGREGOR PRESS, of which Truax was a partner & financial manager of the newspaper. Truax left McGregor not long after. His daughter Emily is quite likely buried in a McGregor area cemetery, but verification is necessary.
