Wm. Henry Gossman was born on a farm near Clayton Center, Iowa, August 24, 1866, the youngest son of Chris Gossman and Sophia Hamann, and died April 12, 1946. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church.
On Dec. 19, 1894 he was married to Emma Drahn of Farmersburg. He served as a buttermaker in this community for many years.
Mr. and Mrs. Gossman observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1944 at their daughter's home in St. Paul, Minn.
Surviving are his widow and the following children: Flossie (Mrs. H. A. Goglin), and Paul of St. Paul, Minn., Florence (Mrs. Lou Coe), Mason City, Iowa, and Violetta and Karl, at home; a brother Louise of Northfield, Minn. three grandchildren, Joan, Maxine, and Maurene Goglin of St. Paul, Minn., and many relatives and friends.
The funeral was held Sunday, April 13, at St. John's Lutheran church, Littleport.
Pallbearers were James Mathews, Leigh Mathews, Louie Walke, George Kishman, Rich Looby, Harold Kiple, Harry Schievelbein and Gus Lenth.
The following out of town relatives attended the funeral: Louie Gossman and Anna Mae, and Mrs. Joe Hopeman of Northfield, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig Honig of St. Paul, Minn.

Added by S. Ferrall: Essentially the same obit was printed in the Monona Leader, 4/18/1946 except that funeral services were held at St. John's Lutheran church in Farmersburg (not Littleport).
Burial is in Farmersburg-Wagner cemetery.
