Alenta Josephine Johnson Gulsvig was born in St. Olaf, Ia., Aug. 27, 1898, to Otto and Caroline Johnson. She was baptized Oct. 02, 1898, and confirmed in the Norway Lutheran church, June 29, 1913, by Rev. Arverson. On Sept. 26, 1928, she was united in marriage to Ben Gulsvig. To this union were born two children, Carolyn Jean and Rodney Lee.
She was preceded in death by her father, Otto Johnson, on Oct. 18, 1921. With her husband and children she leaves her mother, Caroline Johnson, and one brother Leroy and family of Chicago, Ill.
The home has been made in Monona for 6 years, then in Luana 9 years and two and one-half years at Edgewood. At the time of her death she was settling in a new home at Nordness, Ia. She became ill in the new home on Nov. 12th and died at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester, Minn.
Funeral services wee held at 2 o'clock from the Mrs. Caroline Johnson home and at 2:30 o'clock at the Norway Lutheran church with pastor Rev. S. J. Strandjord officiating. Rev. Fiskerbeck of Ossian and Rev. Engelbretson of Nordness, Ia., also spoke words of comfort. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
The pallbeares were W. B. Patsy, Ed Laneworth, Art Honn, Ed Reiser, Roy Engelhardt, Jim Sorenson and Nels Larson.
