Clayton County Register, 26 June 1940.

STRAWBERRY POINT: George Burrack, 74, Strawberry Point farmer, was instantly killed about five o'clock Friday afternoon at the farm about five miles west of Strawberry Point.

Mr. Burrack had crossed the road to get the mail. To do so he dodged a truck but got into the path of a car driven by Tom Malone, who was on his way home from Oelwein.

Both of Mr. Burrack's legs were fractured and his head was crushed. Coroner J. R. Wood of Wadena and Sheriff Kutschat of West Union were notified and after they arrived at the scene stated that the accident was unavoidable and that no inquest would be held.

Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon followed by services in the Emanuels Lutheran church. Burial was made in the St. Sebald cemetery, the Rev. Max O. Jahr officiating.

George Burrack was born in Germany on January 14, 1866. He was united in marriage with Meta Nordman, who survives, together with two children: Mrs. Charles Wiltse of Strawberry Point and John at home. Two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
