Volga: Morgan Andrew Parsons was born at Littleport, Iowa, on May 30, 1857, and passed away at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 17 days on March 17, 1940.

Mr. Parsons was united in marriage with Nancy Schoolard in 1881. To this union was born three daughters: Anna May, Nellie Irene, and Linnie Erith; and three sons: Otto Luverne and the twins, Roy Melvin and Austin Juilius.

He was married to Jennie Gilbert who passed away at their home in Eagle Grove in 1934. Mr. Parsons then moved to Volga City shortly after, where he passed away.

He was partial to music and especially patriotic music, ever-ready to accept invitations of playing for Decoration Day services and other gatherings.

He leaves to mourn his passing: Anna Sparks, Waterloo; Linnie Robbins, Strawberry Point; Otto Parsons, McCook, Nebr.; Roy Parsons of Independence; also a brother, Thomas and sisters, Mary Aunger of Mott, N.D.; Clara Ann Galer, Yankton, S.D.; Lucinda Hatfield, Ripley, N.Y.; Emma Galer, Elkader; there were 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, besides a host of friends and other relatives.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Methodist church with the Rev. E. J. Starr officiating. Burial was in the cemetery at Littleport.

The pall bearers were grandsons of the deceased: Walter, Vernon, John and Harold Robbins, Michael and Charles Galer.

Out-of-town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Otto Parsons and daughters Linnie and Stella, McCook, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Milton Sparks, Waterloo; Earl Romig, son Ernest, three daughters, Gladys Clark, Edgewood; Violet Gibbs, Manchester; Ezra Roming, Edgewood, Walter Robbins, Waterloo; Hugh Weis, Edgewood; Mr. and Mrs. John Romig, Edgewood; John Robbins and family, Strawberry Point, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Gordon, Mr. and Mrs. Emmet Randall, Aurora, Charles Galer, Dubuque; Mrs. Emma Galer, Charles, Michael and Elmer, Vernon Robbins and family, Strawberry Point; Mrs. Ida Elliot, Mrs. Emma Seward, Albert Schuldt and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Robbins, Harold, Clarence and Mildred, Strawberry Point.
