The news of the death last week Monday morning of Mrs. Caroline Osborne, was a severe shock, not only to her immediate family, but to all who knew her, because she arose in the morning, apparently in good health, and started to do the various duties of the home until about an hour before her death.

The deceased was a daughter of Herman Schuette and his wife Anna nee Baumann. She was born September 05, 1876, in Sioux county, Iowa, and died at her home Monday morning, June 12, 1939, reaching the age of 62 years, nine months and ten days.

Mrs. Osborne spent her childhood days with her grandparents on the farm two and one-half miles from Littleport. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church at Elkport, Iowa. On _______ 8, 1899, she was united in marriage to Thomas Osborne, to whom she was a faithful helpmate up to her death.

Four children were born to this union, Flore___ who lives near Garber, Earl of Seaside, Ore., Erna Reinhart of Elkader, and Alice at home. She also leaves to mourn her departure beside the aforenamed children, her husband, two half-sisters, Mrs. Amelia Blackm__ of Midland, S.D., and Mrs. __uise Meyers of Seattle, Wash., one grandchild, Jean Reinhart, of Elkader.

Services were held last Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at the home in Osborne and at 2:00 at the Evangelical church, with burial in the Mederville cemetery, the Rev. P. Kitterer officiating.

Casketbearers were George Feller, Miles Scott, Clarence Sturm, Wm. Anderman, Chas. Heiden and Leigh Shepperd.
