STRAWBERRY POINT: Mike Liddy, a former resident of this place, but now of Hawkeye, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. W. Smock, Monday. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the St. Frances church in Hawkeye, and burial was made at Littleport. The deceased, a son of Dennis and Margaret Hayes Liddy, was born at Littleport, August, 1856. He was united in marriage to Anna Sullivan of Littleport, on March 13, 1883. To this union six children were born. Mrs. Liddy died April 06, 1894. Mr. Liddy was united in marriage to Miss Maud Uhl of Strawberry Point on June 12, 1900. In 1907 they moved to Hawkeye, where Mr. Liddy was engaged in the cement block industry until recent years. Surviving are three children of the first marriage: Miss Nellie Liddy of Lewistown, Mont.; J. R. Liddy of Helena, Mont., and R. E. Liddy of Elkader; his sister, Mrs. A. L. Beardslee of Manchester; his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Smock of Manchester, and Mrs. J. J. Baum of Manchester, and a son, Lucius Liddy, of Keosauqua, and four grandchildren.
