Clayton County Register, 19 Oct. 1938.

Monona: Funeral services for Miss Mary Connell, aged 70, who was found dead in her bed Wednesday morning, were held at nine o'clock Saturday morning from St. Patrick's Catholic church. The pastor, Rev. Luke Donlon, read the mass of requiem and said prayers at the grave.

Surviving her are two brothers, Mike Connell of Seattle, Wash., and Matt Connell with whom she lived on the home farm, and four sisters, Mrs. Rose McLane and Mrs. Julia Krautkramer of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Alice Goosen of Selz, N.Dak., and Nora McDonald of Monona.

Miss Connell was an outstanding Catholic, and a good neighbor, a real sister and a kind friend.

The sympathy of the community is extended the sisters and the brothers in their loss.
