Mrs. Glee Johnson (nee Doris Portwine) of Guttenberg, died at Finley hospital in Dubuque last Friday morning at 8:30, following a short illness. She had been taken to the Dubuque hospital a few days previous to her death.

Mrs. Johnson was 17 years of age at the time of her death. She had been a student in the Guttenberg and Elkader high schools. A short time ago she was married to Glee Johnson of Nebraska, and since their marriage the couple had resided in Guttenberg.

The body was brought from Guttenberg to the home of her mother Mrs. Elsie Portwine, here, and funeral services were held in the Congregational church yesterday afternoon.

Mrs. Johnson was a young woman who had many friends, and her untimely death is mourned by them equally with her mother, her father - George Portwine; two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Duwe and Mrs. Arthur Herman, and her grandfather, P. J. Bolsinger, all of Guttenberg.
