FAIRVIEW: Cubert* Garfield Oldham, son of Omar and Jane Oldham, died at his farm home Wednesday night, Dec. 02, 1936, after a very short illness of pneumonia that had been preceded by attacks of asthma all is life. Bert, as he was known to all his friends, was born on a farm near Updegraph, August 12, 1881. On Jan. 01, 1907 he was married to Laura Hansel, and to them were born four children, Mrs. Beulah Reimer of Elkader, Omar and Maudie at home, and little Doris who preceded him in death six years ago. Besides his wife and three children, he is survived by one grandchild, his brother Doyle of Fairview, with whom his aged father, Omar Oldham, makes his home, and his brother Elwin of Oneida. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Knight of Fairview and the Rev. Meyer of Zion at the Fairview church Saturday afternoon. The male quartet of Zion gave the hymn selections. Burial was made at the Brown cemetery. Friends extend sympathy to the family in their sorrow.
