Elkader Register, Thur., 18 Aug. 1892.

Lars Torkelson, aged 77 years, died at his home in Highland township, Sunday, from complaint incidental to old age. Mr. Torkelson was an early settler of this county, having located here some thirty years ago, and was highly respected by all who knew him. A wife and four grown children are left to mourn the loss of husband and father.
