Elkader Register, Thur., 30 May 1889.

Florence A. Lamphier died Saturday morning, May 25th, 1889, at the home of her parents in Fairfield township, in Fayette county, at the age of 9 years, 8 months, after an illness of 17 days, of diphtheria. The remains were laid to rest in the Volga cemetery Saturday afternoon.

Sweet child, my darling daughter
How much I miss thee now,
And long once more to look
Upon your angel brow.
I'll never see thee more
Until I clasp your hands
Where thou art dwelling now,
In fair and distant lands.
