The following is copied from a form "Information for Publication by the News-Argus" contributed by Kathy Smith, granddaughter.

Obituary of Charlotte A. Dresen, died 12/11/1988 at Central Montana Hospital.

Born 9/9/1888 at Littleport, Iowa. Parents Joseph and Anna Schwartz, neither of who survive.

Schooling - Nebraska, graduated for Nurses Training in Iowa
Occupation - Registered Nurse, retired

Married 4/30, 1919 at Littleport, Iowa, to Henry Joseph Dresen.

Residence - Stanford, MT

Lodges, Clubs, Offices held, etc. - St. Rose of Lima Altar Society & Stanford Homemaker's Club

Survivors:
Charlotte Haker, daughter, Stanford, MT
Virginia Averill, daughter, Bigfork, MT
Richard Dresen, son, Red Bluff, CA
Laurence Dresen, son, Cottonwood, CA
16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren
Preceded in death by her husband in 1927; one grandson Lennie in 1973

After her schooling she worked as a nurse in Iowa. She came to Montana in 1919 after her marriage. she helped him on his farm near Lehigh, MT. He preceded her in death in 1927. She and the kids then moved to Windham, living there until 1942. She then went back into nursing and worked in Polson for six years and then in Missoula until retiring in 1960, living there until 1968. She moved to Stanford to be near her daughter.

Funeral services Dec. 16, 1988 St. Rose of Lima Cath. Church, 11:00 a.m., Fr. Raymond Nyquist. Interment Stanford cemetery. Rosary at 8:00 p.m. at the church. Creel-Morrison-Retz Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials can be made to the Stanford Cemetery and may be left at the bank.
