Elkader Register, Thur., 21 Feb. 1889.

Frederic Willbury*, the subject of this sketch, was born at Barlaben in the kingdom of Prussia, on the 14th day of March, 1812. Died at Mederville, Iowa, February 15th, 1889. He came to America 20 years ago, locating on the farm where he died. He had been sick for many months and when the final summons came it was like the blowing out of a candle. He had four children, one son in Germany, a daughter in Nebraska, another daughter living _____ here, and a son with whom he lived at the time of his death, the latter being at Chicago for medical treatment at the time of the death of the father. His wife died several years ago, she being buried in the cemetery at this place, where his remains were laid to rest last Sunday, S. M. Stalnacker delivering a short address at the grave. A good man has gone to his rest. Peace to his ashes.

Mederville, February 18th, 1889.

__________

Note:
WILLBURG per 1885 IA State census and WILLBURD per 1870 U.S. census

Gravestone of his son August in Mederville cemetery spells surname as WILLBERG. Frederic & wife may not have gravestones, and burial in Mederville cemetery is assumed.
