Elkader Register, Thur., 20 Dec. 1888.
On Thursday morning last at 2:30 o'clock, at the home of her son Michael in Elkader, occurred the death of Mrs. Margaret Regan, widow of John Regan. Deceased had been a sufferer from rheumatism for a number of years, which combined with old age caused he death.
She was a native of county Kilkerney, Ireland, where she was born September 29th, 1814, and was therefore a little over 64 years of age. She came to this county a number of years ago, and during her long residence here had gained many friends who will deeply mourn her loss. She leaves two sons, Michael, of Elkader, and William, of Dakota, and one step-son P. Regan, to mourn her death. The funeral took place on Friday last from the Catholic church, Revs. Father Reilly and Rowe officiating.
(Note" Her age at death appears to be calculated wrong. Her given year of birth in the article was very clearly printed, as was the date of the paper.)
