Elkader Register, Thur., 12 July 1888. Volga column.
Ostrander Harvey, an old pioneer of this township, died at his home on Hewitt creek, July 08th, 1888. He came to Iowa from Michigan over thirty-three years ago, and has been a resident of Clayton county ever since that time. He was highly respected and his death will be mourned by many friends. His wife died shortly after they came to Iowa, but five grown children are left to mourn the departure of a kind and loving father. In politics Mr. Harvey was a democrat and was a faithful worker in the party ranks. He was buried to-day in the Cox Creek cemetery in the Ross neighborhood beside his wife.
