Clayton County Journal, Thur., 09 Feb. 1887. Osterdock column.

Mrs. James Smothers died of consumption on the 01st inst. and was buried Tuesday at the Wiltse burying ground. Rev. Todd Hansel officiating. Mrs. Smothers leaves several small children, a husband, and many friends to mourn her loss. How important to be prepared for the silent messenger death.
