The Dubuque Telegraph of Monday contains the following notice of the death of a former citizen of this county;
George W. Lewis* died Sunday at the family residence, No. 1088 Main Street, after a sickness of over two years. Deceased was a native of Boston, aged 54 years and a resident of Dubuque ten years. He was connected with the Novelty Iron Works for several years and until he became an invalid. He was a man of strong character and enjoyed the esteem of all who knew him. He leaves a wife, two sons, Dr. Frank Lewis, of McGregor, and Charles, of Jacksonville, Fla., and one daughter, Maud, of this city. The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock, and will be under the auspices of the Masonic fraternity. Interment will be at McGregor, the former place of residence of the deceased.
