DIED - At McGregor, March 28th, 1860, of Puerperal Fever, Mrs. M.A. Harroun, wife of Dr. J. Wade King. Aged 19 years, 11 months and 22 days.
In this sudden bereavement a devoted wife has been taken, and a desolate husband left who believed she lived and died a christian.
She died - a gem of purity, of virtue, and of worth,
She died - because too good to live upon this sinful earth,
Embodiment of patience rare, she murmured not at pain,
A flower of heaven - she bloomed awhile, then back to heaven again.~Weekly North Iowa Times, Wednesday, April 4, 1860; pg 2
Notes:
- The marriage of Miss M.A. Harroun, "formerly of Pennbroke, N.Y." and J.W. King, "late of IL" took place on 4/11/1859 in Prairie du Chien, WI.
