Elkader Register, Thur., 30 Dec. 1886.
It will be remembered that two weeks ago we published a notice of the finding of Ole L. Hulverson in the barn of Fred Diers, of Read township, with a bullet hole in his head and a revolver by his side. He was engaged in hauling cream to St. Olaf and had gone to the bar to put out his team. The cause of the deed was supposed to be suicidal or accidental.
Dr. Cain was called at once and after examining his surroundings had him removed to his father's house, but owing to darkness a thorough examination was deferred until the next morning. Doctors Cain, Renshaw and Han__ were present on the following day and found that the bullet had gone into the brain and well knew that his chances for recovery were anything but __attering. His parents, brothers and sisters gave him every attention that loving hearts and tender care could suggest, but all was of no avail and the end came last Thursday at 9 o'clock, when he breathed his last.
Ole L. Hulverson was 23 years of age, born in Read township, the son of L. C. Hulverson.
The funeral occurred on Sunday the 26th inst., the remains being followed to their last resting place by a large concourse of sorrowing friends.
Ole was a pleasant young man of the best habits and disposition, beloved by all, and his untimely death is a sad affliction to one of our best families. The sympathies of all are sorrowfully extended.
