Died, November 11th, 1886, in Sperry township, near Volga, Mrs. Mary Clapper, of cancer, aged 80 years. She was the mother of James E. Bissell. She, with her husband, settled in Cox Creek in the year 1852, being one of the early settlers of Clayton County. Her husband died about 30 years ago. For a number of years she made her home with her son James. Always industrious, ready to help her neighbors and friends in time of need. She died a Christian. The funeral took place on Saturday last in the Volga cemetery, Rev. J. G. Whitford officiating.
