Elkader Register, Thur., 09 Sept. 1886.

DIED- On Friday, Sept. 3rd, 1886, at the residence of Barney Collins, in Highland township, occurred the death of Peter Collins, aged nearly 70 years. Deceased had been a resident of Clayton county for nearly twenty years, and had gained the esteem of all who knew him. He leaves two brothers to mourn his loss. The funeral occurred on Monday, and his remains were followed to their last resting place in the Catholic cemetery by a large concourse of friends.
