Elkader Register, Thur., 13 May 1886. McGregor column.

Mrs. Stafford, aged about 62 years, of Monona, mother of Mrs. Geo. Miller, of this city, died on Saturday last.

Mrs. Stafford, an old resident of Smithfield, died at the home of her son L.C. Stafford on Saturday May 1st.

She was buried Monday the funeral services being conducted by Rev. J.J. Littler.

Note: This is Christina (Trisler) Stafford, wife of James Harrison Stafford, as named in the 1913 biography (Past & Present of Allamakee County) of her son Seth N. Stafford and the 1911 obituary of her son Lewis Cass Stafford (Monona Leader, 11/30/1911). She is most likely buried in the Smithfield cemetery, Allamakee county, but this has not been verified by me.
