Elkader Register, Thur., 18 Mar. 1886.

DIED- At his residence in Cox Creek township, on Tuesday night, March 16, Charles Heiden; aged 34 years. He had been sick for several weeks with a complication of illnesses, and his death was not unexpected, but none the less a shock to numerous friends. He leaves a wife and several children to mourn his loss. The funeral occurs today, Thursday, and his remains will be laid away to their final rest in the cemetery at Mederville. He was a member of Bismark lodge, A.O.U.W., and the funeral will probably be conducted by that order.
