--- --- ---

Clayton County Register, Thur., 28 May 1931.

Ella Dorothy Kleinpell, daughter of William F. and Minnie Kleinpell, was born September 17, 1895, and on the 20th day of May, 1931, her mother's birthday, she was called to take her place beside her mother, who preceded her in death on June 17, 1923.

From early childhood her life was a constant battle with ill health and bodily infirmities. Aided by the constant care and ministrations of her father, mother and sister, she was enabled to combat her ailment, so that during the last ten years of her life she enjoyed a fair degree of health, which continued until a short time prior to her death.

In order to husband her strength, she was forced to leave school at an early age. Undaunted by her many handicaps, she pursued a course of self-instruction. Her native intelligence, coupled with a wide and well-selected course of reading, gave her a goodly store of knowledge of the past and a keen insight into modern movements and conditions. On every occasion she carefully informed herself and intelligently exercised the duties and privileges of citizenship.

By nature, she was demure and retiring. She confined herself largely to the enjoyment of her home, family and group of intimate fiends.

In the performance of her religious duties she was persevering and conscientious. As was her nature, in this as well as all other service, her performance was quiet and without ostentation.

Her mother, in the later years of her life, was afflicted with a grave illness. At the onset Ella took over the household duties and made a comfortable home for her parents. At about the same time her father suffered various indispositions. Through her tender care and especially her knowledge of the preparation of diets, she was enabled to provide comfort and prolonged life for her mother, and for her father, complete recovery.

Hers was a life of sacrifice and service. She asked for no reward or commendation. Her satisfaction came from consciousness of service rendered.

Her work was done. Her body, weakened by illness of long standing, released her soul.

She leaves surviving, her father, William F. Kleinpell, a sister, Lulu Murphy, three nieces, Lorna, Kathleen and Barbara Ann Murphy, and a large number of relatives and kind friends.

Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon at the late home and in the Evangelical church, with the Rev. C. H. Franke officiating. Interment was made in the East Side cemetery on the family lot.
